May Madness - Final Four

Writer's picture: BrianBrian

Championship weekend is here!

No changes to the bracket as we have Duke-Penn St. and Notre Dame-UVA.

This is Penn State’s first trip to Final Four Weekend and they are playing in their home state as the games are being held in Philadelphia. Nonetheless, I think Duke has the upper hand here. They have playmakers up and down the roster. I think Penn State will put up a valiant effort, but ultimately fall short.

Winner: Duke Confidence Level: 8

Notre Dame is 12-2 on the year with both losses to the Cavaliers. They have a chance to avenge those losses in the semi-finals. Both teams have dynamic scorers on attack. This game will feature 17 All-Americans between the two teams, including Midfielder of the Year (Thomas McConvey from Virginia and Liam Entenmann for ND).

Winner: ND Confidence Level 7

Looking ahead to Monday's game (assuming my picks prove correct):

Notre Dame vs. Duke. I've had the Irish winning from the get go and I'm not going back on that choice. I think they bring the first title to South Bend.

Winner: ND Confidence Level 6
